The CCDC Has Another Great Event Coming Up

This coming Sunday, June 23, from 2-3, the CCDC will host another speaker in its Community Conversations: Sundays at the Haskell House series. The speaker, Ailisha Macharia, will share her story about the transformative power of growing food. She will talk about the relationships her Kenyan father and Vietnamese mother had with food and how exploring those relationships helped her choose a new career path and find greater joy and meaning in life.

Ailisha is the Happy Kitchen Coordinator for Austin’s Sustainable Food Center. Among other things, she organizes free cooking and nutrition classes at various locations throughout Central Texas.

Ailisha lives on a 17-acre farm in Elgin.
