Amplify Austin Day is March 6-7. But You Can Give Now!
Please consider supporting the Clarksville Community Development Corporation’s (CCDC) affordable housing program with a donation. It’s been around for 46 years, making it the oldest CDC-run affordable housing in Austin. Also, it’s the only such program operating west of I-35 and one of the only programs of its kind in the nation located in an affluent neighborhood.
Our program consists of single family homes and duplexes that are scattered throughout the historic Clarksville neighborhood. They provide housing to 17 low income families with children under the age of 18 whose gross family income is no more than 60% of the median family income for Austin and Travis County. However, two of our properties, a newly constructed single family home and an ADU are reserved for families with incomes that are no more than 50% of the median family income.
In addition to living in a safe, tree-filled, convenient neighborhood, the grade school-age children of the CCDC’s tenants attend Mathews Elementary, one of Austin’s best elementary schools. The education children receive there provides them with the foundation they need to succeed once they leave elementary school and throughout their adult lives.
